Unusual House Call

A Wilmington man lends his legal expertise to a hit Fox TV show. The call came out of the blue to lawyer John Amorison. A producer from the hit Fox TV show "House" needed some legal advice. Amorison: "So I call her back to see, you know, sometimes, is it a gag or not? And, no, it was legitimate." The show is about odd medical cases that the acerbic Dr. House must solve. Amorison has dealt in real-life with some of the issues the show tackles. Amorison: "What's the legal ramifications and how the process works when a doctor or hospital is recommending a certain type of medical treatment, and one of the relatives says no, what happens next. Kind of like the Terry Schiavo situation." The two episodes Amorison consulted on were "Autopsy" and "House Vs. God. "He didn't get any on-air credits for his work. But, did he at least watch the shows? Amorison: "I didn't. I don't watch a lot of TV, to be honest with you. I just forgot about it." Amorison's ready if "House" needs him again. Amorison: "Next season's coming up, and if there's any other issues, she's got my number."
